| 内容記述 | 諸外国における保育の現状について,まず本稿では,アメリカの幼児教育に焦点をあてて考察を進めていった。現行の学校制度と保育制度の関連性,そこに至るまでの歴史的背景,子どもや幼児教育に関する定義,幼児期のプログラムに含まれる様々な施設とそこで行われている実践について細かくみていった。今回の考察から,アメリカの幼児教育に関する特色として,その多様性,地域性,及び柔軟性ということが導き出された。歴史・文化・社会的背景こそ違うものの,他国の経験や実践からは学べるところも多い。特に,アメリカは様々な問題を抱えながらも新たな対処法を打ち出し,敏速に対応していく。そこでは,政府を動かす国民一人一人の力,つまり親や保育者一人一人の高い意識が強い原動力となって働いている。 This is a study of early childhood education in the U.S. and is prepared as a reference for follow-up studies on childcare and early childhood education in foreign countries. At first, the history of childcare and early childhood education in the U.S. is summarized. Then, labels for children and the terminology of early childhood education are discussed. Finally, types of early education programs and practices are explained. It shows that the characteristics of the U.S. childcare and education system are in its diversity, locality, and flexibility. Japanese educators can learn a lot from their American counterparts. | |||||
